SERVICES : DRIVING COURSES

Our Training Centre is at the present the only DSA /Approved Centre in Wales we are also a 'Skills for Logistics' A TO (Approved Training Organisation) so we are licensed to operate the 'Young Drivers Scheme' where at 18 years of age* you can drive LGVs

* Certain conditions apply

  • B+E Licence; Since 1997 anyone passing their driving test (category 'B' Car Licence up to 3.5 Tonnes) cannot legally tow a trailer of more than 750 Kilo MAM (Maximum Authorised Mass, this is the weight of the trailer plus its permitted maximum load) Medium and Large Caravans fall into this category as do most 'Plant Trailers' maximum train weight must not exceed 3.5 Tonnes.
  • Category 'Cl' Licence minimum age 18 years is required if you drive (or want to drive) a vehicle between 3.5 and 7.5 Tonnes, trailers up to .75 Tonnes MAM may be towed,
  • Category'C1+E' C1 Class vehicle towing a trailer of more than .75 Tonnes MAM maximum train weight 12.0 Tonnes
  • Category'C Large rigid vehicles minimum age 21 years (unless enrolled on the Young Drivers Scheme whereby you can drive LGV at 18 years of age.)
  • Category 'C+E1 Large rigid vehicles towing trailers over .75 Tonne
  • Category Dl Minibus Licence Minimum age 21 Vehicles with between 9 and 16 passenger seats with/without a trailer of up to .75 Tonne MAM
  • Category 'Dl+E1 Minibus Licence Minimum age 21 Vehicles with between 9 and 16 passenger seats with a trailer over .75 Tonne MAM Maximum train weight 12.0 Tonne
  • Category 'D1 Large coaches and Buses Minimum age 21 years old (There are exceptions check with the DVLA Swansea) can tow a trailer up to .75 Tonne.
  • Category 'D+E' Large coaches and Buses Minimum age 21 years old (There are exceptions check with the DVLA Swansea) towing a trailers over .75 Tonne.
